Southold General: A Bright Spot in Southold Serving Elevated Comfort Food

NIcely curated place! Bright and airy with a variety food and beverages. The pizza looks very good in the showcase, but does not taste good at all: soggy, runny sauce... A bit overpriced on all products...

Charged me $14 for a sandwich marked $12 on the menu. In the most ordinary supermarket or shop, places without any of this place's pretensions, they know they have to honor the sticker price even if they think it should be higher. not here--instead of giving me the $2 back they offered to refund the whole price and give me no sandwich. and beyond the incompetent and ignorant quality of the service, the food here has declined. won't be coming back.

You have to bring back the veggie quiche. What happened? Why did it change so much?? Please bring back the original recipe. This one is nowhere near as good.

The General Egg Sandwich with Smoked Salmon was tasty. Quality ingredients.

Pretty good. Had the KK’s salad (had to cut it up and mix it together, but no bother here... Just how I like my salad). Produce seems fresh; I think the salad was fairly priced assuming the veggies came from KK’s down the street. Grabbed a chicken sandwich for my boyfriend, and when I got it to him he noticed that there was a produce sticker on the tomato... This I am not happy about. For $22 I expect a certain level of quality, and part of this is the kitchen prep. I don't mind paying for high-quality food, but please make sure that the product you are serving is reflective of this. Overall, average experience.

Returned for their coque monsieur which is very good. Coffee was also very good. Daughter loved the hot chocolate. For some people the prices may seem high but I have noticed an increase of 30% during our inflation period and some places even higher. It may affect the restaurant business on the North Fork as a few of my favorite places have closed. March 2025. We came for lunch and it was delightful to sit in the sunny side room. We ordered lemon ricotta pizza and a tomato grilled cheese sandwich. The bread for the sandwich was excellent in texture and flavor. The pizza was topped with shaved provolone and torn basil and parsley. Delicious. Coffee was excellent I love coming here to relax with a good lunch in front of me
